I've been anxiously waiting to find out when Alex's Pday is in the MTC! This morning I got a quick email saying "I'm on..." So, here goes!!!
That picture is pretty awesome!!! For your information, today is my P-day, so Wednesday is when you can expect emails. I'm using half of my hour to email now, then I'll use the other half around 4 or 5. So I'll post this now, and update it again later this afternoon when he sends more info!
Hardest week of my life, but I'm actually liking it. I'll tell you more about it later today (ask any questions you might want to know in a reply email and I'll answer them when I get on later today.)
Thanks to Mom for the letters, I do get the Dear Elder letters the same day you send them. They really brighten my day, and I'm super grateful for them.
Because I'm going to tell you all the nitty gritty details later, I'll just give you a quick overview now. My companion's name is Elder Thomas. He's from Minnesota, has the accent, and is an awesome guy. The other guys in my district are Elder Tiffany, who's been a member of the church for a year, and Elder Patterson. I'm the District Leader, which is pretty cool because it means that I get to collect the mail. Elder Thomas is going to Santo Domingo East, DR; Tiffany is going to my mission, and Patterson is going to Guatemala. The sisters in my district (there are 4) are also really cool, and three of them are going to my district (one to my mission). My zone is awesome, there are no older elders because they all left on their missions, so we're the oldest in our zone.
The CCM is the hardest experience of my entire life, but I've already come a lot closer to Christ. Spanish is coming slowly, but my companion and I decided that were going to try to speak Spanish 80% of the time together, so that's good. My mind is blown after every study session though. The food is great. But, I'm doing a pretty good job of not eating too much (last time I checked I'm pretty sure I had lost weight). General Conf was the most spiritual one I've watched thus far. It really brought the Spirit and helped me to know that I should be here. Yes, I'm going to the temple today.
Mom, if you could let me know what my account balance is on my Zions Bank card, I'd really appreciate it. Also, if you could send me my gray hoodie and my black joggers, I'd really appreciate it. I'll try and think of more stuff later. Tell the family that I love em a ton, even though the only person I miss is you. Che!
Later this afternoon...
Our Narnia hole was super lame, there was just a bunch of spoons in it. I'll be sure to send pics next week. I'd ask you how to do laundry but it's already done, so hopefully stuff doesn't shrink. Also, can you send me one or two more P-Day shirts? That would be super nice to have for now. Love you mom!!!!
And to Jose...
Thanks for writing me dad! Elder Patterson is from Alpine, Utah, and he's a boss 3 point shooter. He's going to this weird one that starts with an R... He’s going to Guatemala Retalhuleu. My last area was in that mission. Back then it was part of the Guatemala City South mission. Three of the sisters are going to Argentina, but only 1 is going to my mission in Argentina. I'll tell you Elder Tiffany's conversion story next P-Day, once I know it better and when I'm not in a hurry. And yes I've met my branch president. He seems like a really great guy. This is super hard, but I know that I'll make it through, and when I look back on it, I'll see that I enjoyed it in the end. Love you, kind of miss you I guess. See you in 103! Yes, Jose has already started the week count-down; and has already told Alex the number!
The picture that Alex was talking about was a gem that Aunt Amberly sent to us after a trip down memory lane last week when he went into the MTC - we all got a great laugh out of 10 year old Alex at the Louvre...
